SETUP PORTFOLIO MANAGER

EduCon will set up a Portfolio Manager account for your district with required information for all facilities and corresponding utility accounts (electricity, natural gas, propane, water, sewer, and stormwater). EduCon will upload the most current 12 months of utilities data. Following the set-up phase, EduCon will provide your district with full access to Portfolio Manager and additional training on the system.

Cost reduction in school utilities

DATA ENTRY

EduCon will enter all data into Portfolio Manager monthly upon receiving scanned images or digital invoices from a designated point of contact within your school system. We will maintain a digital file of invoices and utility billing information we receive in a shared file system, organized chronologically by service and site.

REPORTING & DATA ANALYSIS

EduCon will utilize its Energy Intelligence reporting system to issue standard monthly reports with data extracted from Portfolio Manager. Baseline comparisons will typically be made to current period vs. the same period, 12 months earlier. By monitoring and analyzing utility usage, we have identified:

  • Billing errors

  • Excess usage, such as equipment running unnecessarily when buildings are not in use

  • Critical maintenance issues, such as a spike in water costs due to hidden water leaks

  • Once utility invoices have been entered each month, EduCon will provide a thorough analysis to identify areas of concern including unusual usage or costs, upward or downward trends, the impact of shutdowns, etc. If additional diagnostics and/or remedial work is warranted, we will provide action-based recommendations. EduCon issues reports within two months of usage, provided that all utility invoices are received in a timely manner.

  • When set-up has been completed in Portfolio Manager, EduCon will utilize the Energy Intelligence reporting system to generate an annual utilities report for the latest 12-month period in the database. Annual reports will be issued thereafter, at the conclusion of each school year, provided that initial and renewal agreements are in effect.

Custom analysis reports or report modifications may be designed and included in our reporting service. Our team can provide an estimate for additional reports on a case-by-case basis.
