Utilities are second only to payroll in your school district’s annual budget.

How are you managing this expense?

Our Focus

Much of the work required to track, analyze and report on utility consumption and cost does not require someone sitting in a chair at the district. Rather than spending time gathering information, you can use that time being reactive to areas of concern and proactive to areas of opportunity. Our virtual service provides a perfect solution.

 Our Approach

EduCon combines the EPA’s Portfolio Manager platform with our custom analysis and reporting solutions. Our approach, which is comprised of three fundamental elements, is the foundation of our menu of services. Clients often look to our experience and expertise to assist them with additional solutions.

Utilities Tracking

We set up all of the district’s utilities accounts in Portfolio Manager to record usage and costs for each service type in all facilities.

Data Analysis

Our specialists will review reports to ensure the data is complete and accurate, and to identify areas of concern or opportunity.

Reporting

We provide monthly and year-end reports tailored to school districts  including trends and recommendations.

Portfolio Manager

We have built our program around a software developed by the Environmental Protection Agency called Portfolio Manager. It is a free application that supports their ENERGYSTAR program which certifies facilities as energy efficient. We have developed Menu of Services options that uses this application and adds additional functionality by producing a variety of reports that replaces the district’s dependency on expensive software systems and energy management programs.
